On the 11th of May the Goldsmiths, Greenwich and Lewisham Marxists held a meeting at Goldsmith’s University on the revolutionary events of May 68.

Even during a busy period for everyone, we had a great turnout of 14 radical young workers and students showing enthusiasm and thirst for revolutionary ideas. May ‘68 is especially important for students as a perfect example of linking with the working class in the fight against the bosses and their system.

We had a fantastic and far-reaching discussion, connecting the events of May 68 to the powerful movement in Sri Lanka, the essential need for transforming the unions into genuine militant organisations of the working class, drawing this together with the crystal clear necessity for a revolutionary leadership capable of leading the fight for socialism in our lifetime.

May ‘68 will forever play an essential role in teaching Marxist students and workers in its revolutionary lessons.#
