The students organised in the Polytechnic Students Committee of Struggle-Revolutionary Student Union (CLEP-UER) send revolutionary greetings from Mexico to the students at LSE. We show our solidarity in the struggle that they have taken up in defence of public education. In Mexico, just a few months ago, the most important student strike since 1968 in the National Polytechnic Institute ended. We lasted 78 days on strike , during which time we learned that only through struggle can we succeed in taking back our future from the ruling class who are trying to take it from us bit by bit.
Our struggle is very similar to yours: we do not want the police in our schools (because we are not criminals), we do not want our curricula dictated in the interests of big business, we want a democracy – one in which our opinions are taken into account. And we will fight until this is what we have!
We occupied our schools during one of the struggles that has most scarred our exploited country of Mexico – the struggle to find the 43 disappeared students. We occupied in a state where the government and the drug cartels are essentiality the same thing.
Clearly we are all fighting against the same capitalist monster. Little by little the system tries to snatch everything, with “reforms”, privatisations and attacks upon conquests that have been won by workers through years and years of struggle.
Comrades, you are not alone, your fight is our fight, if the bourgeoisie thinks that it can move against the youth without facing a fightback, it is wrong.
Keep fighting, don’t give in, and let’s prove to the world that they have messed with the wrong generation.

Solidaridad con los estudiantes de la London School of Economics
Los estudiantes que nos organizamos en el Comité de Lucha Estudiantil Politécnico- Unión de Estudiantes Revolucionarios enviamos desde México un saludo revolucionario y nos mostramos solidarios en la lucha que han emprendido en defensa de la educación pública. En México hace tan solo un par meses finalizó la huelga estudiantil más importante desde 1968 en el Instituto Politécnico Nacional. Vivimos 78 días de huelga en los que aprendimos que solo luchando lograremos recuperar el futuro que la clase dominante intenta arrebatarnos día con día.
Nuestra lucha se parecía mucho a la de ustedes: no queríamos a la policía en nuestras escuelas (pues nosotros no somos delincuentes), no queríamos que nuestros planes de estudio fueran dictados por los intereses de las grandes empresas, queríamos democracia, que nuestra opinión sea tomada en cuenta, y luchamos hasta lograrlo!
Cuando nosotros ocupábamos nuestras escuelas, en nuestro país explotaba una de las luchas que más han marcado a México, la lucha por encontrar a 43 estudiantes normalistas rurales desparecidos. En un Estado donde el gobierno y el narcotráfico actúan como la misma cosa.
Sin lugar a dudas ustedes y nosotros nos enfrentamos al mismo monstruo llamado capitalismo, aquí y allá, el sistema intenta arrebatarnos todo, con reformas, privatizaciones y ataques a las conquistas que han ganado los trabajadores con años y años de lucha.
Compañeros, ustedes no están solos, su lucha es nuestra lucha, si la burguesía cree que puede ir en contra de la juventud sin que esta responda, se equivocan.
Sigan luchando, no se rindan y demostremos que en todo el mundo se han topado con la generación equivocada.
Unidos y organizados… ¡Venceremos!
