Freedom for those arrested at San Marcos University, Lima – down with the repression of the Boluarte regime in Peru!
The Marxist Student Federation, with a presence on more than 50 university campuses in England, Wales and Scotland, strongly denounces the police repression that took place on Saturday, January 21st at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Lima, Peru) demands the immediate release of all those arrested, including the leaders of the Federación Universitaria de San Marcos.
On the morning of Saturday 21st there was a brutal police intervention at the San Marcos University in Lima, with the participation of dozens of police officers and an armoured vehicle. The raid on the premises was carried out in a violent manner, without the presence of prosecutors, without allowing lawyers or parliamentary observers to enter.
The police entered the student residences and the university campus, taking 205 detainees, including students and inhabitants of the interior who had come to Lima to demonstrate against the illegitimate president Boluarte, who is already responsible for 54 deaths as a result of police repression that continues unabated.
The detainees were transferred to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation and the Directorate of Counter-Terrorism, in violation of their rights. Several leaders of the University Federation are being held illegally in the student halls of residence: Lucía Garay, Leani Vela, Diany Vivas and Marco Tello.
On behalf of the Marxist Student Federation we want to express our solidarity with the University Federation of San Marcos and our repudiation of the murderous regime of Boluarte.

Libertad para los detenidos en la Universidad San Marcos – abajo la represión del régimen de Boluarte
La Federación Estudiantil Marxista del Reino Unido, con presencia en más de 50 campus universitarios de Inglaterra, Gales y Escocia, quiere manifestar su más enérgico repudio a la represión policial que se ha producido el sábado 21 en la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos y exigir la inmediata libertad de todos los detenidos, entre ellos los dirigentes de la Federación Universitaria de San Marcos.
En la mañana del sábado 21 se produjo una brutal intervención policial en la Universidad San Marcos de Lima, con la participación de decenas de agentes de policía y una tanqueta. El allanamiento de las instalaciones se produjo con todo lujo de violencia, sin la presencia de fiscales, sin permitir la entrada a abogados, ni tampoco a observadores parlamentarios.
La policía entró a las residencias estudiantiles y al recinto universitario llevándose a 205 detenidos entre estudiantes y habitantes del interior que habían venido a Lima a manifestarse contra la ilegítima presidenta Boluarte, que tiene ya en su haber 54 muertes por represión policial que no cesa. Los detenidos fueron trasladados a la Dirección de Investigación Criminal y a la Dirección de Contra Terrorismo, en violación de sus derechos. Se denuncia además que varios dirigentes de la Federación Universitaria se encuentran retenidos ilegalmente en la residencia estudiantil: Lucía Garay, Leani Vela, Diany Vivas y Marco Tello.
Desde la Federación Estudiantil Marxista queremos expresar nuestra solidaridad con la Federación Universitaria de San Marcos y nuestro repudio al régimen asesino de Boluarte.
