Today and tomorrow teaching assistants involved in a dispute with Durham County Council will be on strike over the question of pay cuts. This follows on from previous days of strike action earlier in the month.

We received a very warm welcome on a chillingly cold day today at the rally in Consett after a successful morning for the Durham TA’s strike.
Over 100 schools were picketed, public support remains solid and preparations are in full swing for a demonstration tomorrow and for the TAs to begin to work to rule on Monday.
Durham and Newcastle Marxist Societies, and Comrades from the International Marxist Tendency were there to offer our solidarity.
