#BorisOut: Tories partied while people died

While the Tories were blaming young people, especially students, for the spread of coronavirus, they were throwing lavish get togethers in No. 10. A backlash is hitting the Tory front benches, even from their own backbenches. Simply put, this is another scandal in a scandal ridden government. A video of Tory Party staffers laughing about breaking lockdown rules has confirmed what most ordinary people already know by now: that this elitist, arrogant, Read more…

UCU Strike: Day 2

And we’re off, with the second day of strike action. Our comrades on the pickets have told us the mood is still energetic and workers and students are very angry. The success of the first day has spurred on the strikers. Cavallo shines light on homophobia in football

On the 27th of October, Australian footballer for Adelaide United, Josh Cavallo, announced through a social media post that he is gay. He is the first professional footballer to do so, and has been supported by many who hope to see football become a welcoming sport for all to participate and watch.  Homophobia, unfortunately, is present in different aspects of ‘football culture’. Chanting and homophobic abuse can be hurled at referees and Read more…

Girls Night In: Spiking is proof of a sick system

The Night Time Industry Association (NTIA) has said they have seen a rise in drink-spiking throughout the UK over recent weeks. This confirms again what women already know; that we are not safe. Whether it be walking at night like Sarah Everard or Sabina Nessa, going to the club, or even just existing in our homes, we are at risk of assault and violence no matter where we are. But increasingly, young Read more…
