On the 20th July, 23 members of academic staff at the University of Brighton were issued with compulsory redundancy notices. This follows the voluntary redundancy reluctantly accepted by another 80 members of staff who were otherwise set to face a similar outcome.
In yet another attack on the working class, the Tories are ramping up the amount of that graduates must repay for student loans. We must fight to abolish tuition fees, by kicking capitalism out of education!
UCU members have begun a marking boycott, as part of their struggle with the employers over pay and conditions. The bosses and the press are using this to sow division between students and staff, but we say we must fight hand-in-hand to kick capitalism out of education!
